My Skills

Digital Literacy

In the past few years, I have grown closer to technology. Yes, this may be a part of the “COVID effect” and no, I’m not talking about having a teenage phone addiction. What I mean is that I have grown to learn and develop new online creations. I found a passion for music production, video editing, building virtual presentations, along with other technological forms of art. I display my creativity and my broad imagination successfully through my digital projects. I believe that this will open more job opportunities for myself as I continue my education towards a career.

Communication

Being around my peers and having positive role models such as my brother, has impacted my communication skills significantly for the better. In school, I improved my ability to express ideas clearly through essays and presentations. Writing scripts for public speaking and plays have further sharpened my storytelling skills. Volunteering and playing sports have taught me how to listen actively and adjust my message for different audiences. Whether I’m working on group projects or coordinating events, I learned to collaborate and share ideas effectively. This skill has helped me form strong connections and work well in diverse settings. You know what they say… “actions speak louder than words”; this is true. Oral communication may be the main method of communication I was taught but body language is equally as significant. Learning how people react in different settings has helped me be more mindful of how others are feeling. Understanding how to read signs in baseball and reading how other teams’ body language gives away their strategy has not only improved my communication skills but also understanding how others communicate with one another.

Healthy Competitiveness

I am competitive. Since I was a little kid, I have always wanted to be the best at everything I do. This pushes me to be the best version of myself at school, during sports games, and in anything I set my mind to. Yet, I would still be able to take a loss while not accepting defeat. This means that the next time I am in that situation again, I will try even harder to win without boasting or sharing my progress. Succeeding in silence is one of the most humble traits I work to attain.

I intend to maintain and improve all of these skills as I grow older and develop my career.
