My Future
Relationships
As I mature, I would like to have healthy relationships with everyone I encounter. I hope that everyone I love and support right now will continue to play a significant role in my life. Also, I look forward to making more friendships with people who love me like family and only want the best for me. No matter where I find them; work, through mutual friends, sports, reconnecting with an old friend or family member, or someone I meet solely out of serendipity, I am excited for the experience and memories to come. I intend on having a family of my own as well. When that time arrives in the future, I will be ready to take on the challenge with my whole heart. Just like everyone I have loved, I will make sure to be there for my kids and husband no matter what.
Emotions
Every day in my future, I want to feel excitement, fulfillment, happiness, accomplishment, compassion, and curiosity, all while being grateful for everything I have. By having a job I love, surrounding myself with people who push me to be the best version of myself, and living my life to the fullest, I will create a life filled with purpose, growth, and joy. I’ll embrace challenges, celebrate achievements, and always find beauty and belonging in the journey.
Post-Secondary plan
After high school, I intend to attend a university closer to home like, York University or The University of Toronto. I want to be closer to my family as my grandparents are getting older and I want to be able to visit with them as much as possible. In university, my hope is get my Bachelor of Education degree.
Work
My dream job is to be an elementary or secondary school teacher. I have looked up to many teachers in my life, including my mother and my aunt, who have all played key roles as I have grown up. To be the person that kids can take by example is something I have found a passion for when I had become the leader on my 16U team since I am among the older girls now. Teaching and inspiring younger generations is not only something I am driven to do but also something I excel at.
Living Location
I hope to live on my own by the time I am 25 (in an apartment/condo) or have found someone to live with by then. However, I would never dream of leaving Canada to live permanently. If I am living all by myself, I would prefer to be as close as I can be to my home now that way I could stop by quite often. Although, if I am married or have found a roommate, I would rather live at least 10 minutes away from my current residence. I would not be opposed to living a city over from where I have grown up too… as long as I am living a stable life in a house.
Recreational Activities
For more than 65% of my life, I have dedicated it to my athletic journey, mainly focussing on baseball. Once I fell in love with the sport, I knew that I never wanted to stop playing. I will keep training to the best of my ability with the goal to make Team Canada. As long as I am able to, I intend on playing and coaching baseball and other sports such as basketball, football, softball, ball hockey, soccer, and others. Additionally, I would like to continue writing music on my own to continue expressing my artistic abilities and passion for creating new things. Furthermore, I would like to spend time with the people who make my life whole; my friends and my family. Nothing is more valuable than time and how you spend it.
Holidays
Since I have always been concentrated on my baseball career, I have never been on a proper vacation where baseball wasn’t the reason for the trip. Exploring the world would be wonderful but it’s not a priority in my life. A place I’d enjoy is up north where I could stay in a cabin surrounded by snow. It would be enchanting to head to exotic places with clear water and smooth beaches as well as countries in Europe like Italy and Greece once I’m ready to travel. I’d spend these vacations with my close friends or my partner.
Values
All of the morals that I have been taught by my parents, teachers, coaches, and through my religion help build the person I want to continue to be as I mature. Treating others the way I’d want to be treated, staying humble, treating everyone equally, standing up for what is right, always being open to personal growth, controlling my emotions while still expressing them, taking ownership for mistakes, not giving up on my goals, seeing the best in situations, thinking of others before myself, and to think outside of the box are some examples of values the people around me have influenced me to show. A huge belief that I have is to make everything a valuable and enjoyable experience even if it is hard to do. We only have so much time on Earth and we never know when our time will come; why not make the most of anything we do?
